Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced states of public emergency in the western Jamaica parishes of St James, Hanover and Westmoreland.
The announcement was made a short while ago at a press conference at Jamaica House.
This is the third State of Emergency declared by the prime minister. The previous two came to a premature end when the Peter Phillips led opposition People’s National Party (PNP) sided with criminals and refused to vote for an extension.
Since the SOE ended in St. James, murders has rose dramatically and has residents on edge, begging for a reimposition of the State of Emergency.
