Attorney General Marlene Malahoo-Forte is bemoaning the breakdown of discipline in homes across Jamaica.

Her concerns were expressed in a number of Twitter post from her personal account. In one she wrote:

“There are many homes in Jamaica with modest means and single parents. Yet in them excellence and decency thrive. What is happening in those where criminality dominates?”

In a follow up tweet shortly after she had this to say:

“The society needs to wake up. For too long things have gone horribly wrong in too many homes in our nation. Now taking a life to settle dispute or get even has been normalized and is accepted by too many.”

Her concerns come on the heels of a spike in the murder rates right across the Island with nearly 50 killed since the start of 2018.

What responsibility do you take for the part played by your divisive tribe in this travesty against your fellow countrymen and women? What are you prepared to do to arrest and reverse this trend in the society of which you are a part of the leadership coterie? SOLUTIONS TO JAMAICA’s PROBLEMS ARE PART OF YOUR REMIT AS A LEADER WHERE ARE YOUR SOLUTIONS? Speaking to the problem involves solutions not just talking or identifying what is patently obvious to all. WHERE IS YOUR LEADERSHIP?
