There is a war brewing within the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP)as the young affiliate arm, the PNPYO is threatening to remove senior members of the party, including the General Secretary,Julian Robinson.

In a series of proposals ostensibly to help the PNP, screenshots of which LBC NEWS has seen, the PNPYO is calling on the leadership of the party to remove some persons they sat has led the party through every election since the 70s.

Though we cannot independently verify the document we understand that it was sent by the PNPYO to the party.

In a stinging swipe at the party leadership, the PNPYO contends that the party officer core is part of the problem within the PNP who listens to only their own voice which is usually:”conservative, myopic and antiquated.”

They contend that the party chairman and deputy chairman is the Chief proponent of that behavior and if the party officers don’t do something about it they will:” launch a campaign to remove every single officer.”

They are also calling for Imani Duncan to reassign from the Office of the Leader of the Opposition. She is currently the Chief of Staff to the Opposition Leader.

The PNPYO is also calling for a shadow cabinet reshuffle saying that it’s time some MPs and Senators realize they can’t take the party over the finish line.

Charging that the Secretariat needs to be strengthen, they say Julian Robinson needs to be more decisive. They are also calling on the Deputy General Secretary to resign. And omniously, they are threatening to move the necessary motions to have both men removed.

LBC Analysis

The latest round of bloodletting and recriminations comes on the heels of the thrashing the party got in Eastern Portland, the 9th PNP safest seat, where newcomer, the JLP Ann Marie Vaz beat the PNP’s Damion Crawford by 319 votes, overturning a 2800 vote deficit.

Since then, comrades have turned on each other in typical loser fashion, ascribing blame to just about everything, including calls for Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips to resign.

It will be most interesting to see how this latest war in the PNP will play out.
