Kingston, Jamaica.

Corrupt Police officers will not be able to tamper with data in the NIDS system. Thats the word coming out of an information session now underway on Social media site Facebook, put on by the Government in its drive to inform the public.

Police officers will not be able to add or delete any information in the database. They will be given a random number to verify, and will only be able to search for the information in the system, but not able to alter the information already in the system.

There has been concern raised about how Police will be able to interact with the information that is contained in the Database, seeing the high levels of corruption in the Police force.

As to the matter of people selling the Card that will be associated with NIDS, the panel made it clear that it is free so there will be no need for anybody to buy it. Secondly, they explain, there will be the Biometric component that will show up people that try to corrupt the system.
