As Portia Simpson-Miller prepares to leave as President of the People`s National Party (PNP), reports have emerged of a deal struck between the Portia and Phillips Camp to save Senators, Lambert Brown, Morris and Brown-Burke, who were all appointed by Simpson Miller.
The Portia camp is also pushing for Sandra Falconer to keep her current job, and for Fritz Jackson to withdraw and allow for Phillip Paulwell to take over the Job of Party Chairman.
However, that might not go down well with the Peter Bunting camp, who LBC understands, is been eyed to take over after Phillips time as leader is over. In what many are calling a deal, between Phillips and Bunting, it is expected that he will take over as Party Chairman to begin his understudy to take over when Phillips who is getting quite old, quits as Party Leader.
Meanwhile, Portia Simpson Miller, delivered a broadside against the party heirachy who she said pushed her out. In an extraordinary speech, she said the main problem was that the men in the party didn’t like a woman leading them. She went on to address her perceived incompetence asking that some called her an idiot, but can an idiot hold a Bachelors?
She warned that those who push her out will get no help from her to win any elections. That seems to set her up for another run if the PNP loses the next General Elections.
In a final shot across the bow she told persons interested in representing the Garrison Constituency of hers, to take their hands off it, as she will leave when the time is right.
