Prime Minister Andrew Holness is warning Jamaican’s not be distracted by those seeking to use the COVID-19 to gain political mileage and relevance.

Holness speaking at the latest virtual media briefing this evening, unloaded on the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP), slamming them on their attempts to gain political mileage, by exploiting the current circumstances of Jamaican’s on a Cruise Ship currently anchored in Haitian waters awaiting clearance to enter Jamaica waters.

The clearly annoyed Prime Minister sought to explain the circumstances of the Cruise Ship with the Jamaican’s aboard.

Watch clip below:

The onslaught came against the backdrop of a PNP conference last evening entitled Stranded which was pilloried on Social media being branded Stranded PNP by many.

It has also emerged since then, that the persons appearing in the virtual conference were members of the PNP thereby driving home the point it was all a political scam.

  1. Come on Andrew Holness stop acting sophistically as the pnp is only doing what your party would have done were you the opposition. That the rule of the political game: use whatever you can find to use against your opponent. They aren’t going to lie down and play dead if that’s ehst you expect. Please. Both parties need to stop playing jamaicans as we are more aware of what’s going on in the world around us. Just get on with the job of keeping us safe from the spread of the corona virus of which you are doing a fsirly good job as we are fully aware of the political virus we have been grappling with since independence. To thinking jamaicans, we have already concluded, as far as both political parties are concerned – no better herring, no better barrel!!!

    1. You don’t know that the JLP would have done the same if they were in opposition.
What you know as a fact is that the PNP have done it

  2. The Prime Minister is doing an undeniable great job, as described by the WHO and the Miami Herald amongst others. You know what , a prophet has no honor in his own country. Guess what, you will never be able to keep a good man down. Other countries have responded the same way or more with their stranded country men at sea. Try keeping those at home safe until its clear to take in the others. There would be weeping and wailing if there be a real outbreak in our little Island. Holness is doing the work the people put him there to do, to the best of his ability. Period, full stop.
