The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) is reporting that the Jamaican Economy Grew by 2.2% in the April to June 2018 period when compared to the similar quarter of 2017.
It’s even higher than the figure which was projected for the quarter and better then previous quarters. STATIN projected growth for the quarter would have been just 1.4 percent.
The Mining sector was the driving force behind the impressive growth. Agriculture and Construction also showed impressive growth also.
The uptick in growth continues a trend that started when the Governing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) took over in 2016.
