After a testy exchange between the Opposition Spokesman on education, Peter Bunting and Acting Education Minister Karl Samuda, the Opposition PNP walked out of the sitting of the House of Representatives today.

The walkout came after Samuda accused the PNP of doing and saying anything to undermine the Holness led Government. Samuda was asked to apologise by House Speaker Pernel Charles, but refused to do so. Samuda flatly told the Opposition members to follow their leader and pack up and leave.

Empty Opposition benches in parliament today

Prime Minister Andrew Holness in the meantime responded to the Opposition walkout on his Facebook account calling unfortunate that they have opted to be absent than debate the business of the nation.

He went on to say despite the walkout, the government side will proceed with the Parliamentary agenda.
