Government poverty reduction program gets almost 200% boost in financing

As the Andrew Holness led Government moves to further reduce poverty, which is already at historic lows, the government will be pumping more money into it’s poverty reduction program to the tune of 558 million dollars, up from 349 million dollars, up 174 percent.

That’s the word from Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke during his maiden Budget presentation in parliament earlier today.

Dr. Clarke says this is the fourth phase of program supporting poverty reduction supported by a grant from the European Union (EU).
