I will not be dictated to by any Editorial, says Johnson Smith

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Senator Kamina Johnson-Smith has come out swinging against suggestions that she summon the US Ambassador over comments he made warning Jamaica against closer ties with China.

In a stinging rebuke to Opposition Senator Lambert Brown in the Senate today, who suggested the minister summon the US Ambassador, as suggested in a Gleaner editorial, Mrs. Johnson-Smith says she will not be acting on the instructions of an editorial that has been pulled together to carry out someone’s else’s agenda.

She also pointed out that at all times she has acted in the best interest of Jamaica.

She was speaking in the Senate today.
