Former Contractor General Dirk Harrison is coming under criticism from the newly form Integrity Commission, of which the Office of the Contractor General (OCG), is a part.
The criticism comes in the wake of the Former OCG Head investigation of the Rooms on the Beach sale to a developer, in which he accused Minister in the Office of Prime Minister, Daryl Vaz, who had direct responsibility for the UDC, of essentially pressuring the UDC to accept a lower offer for the sale of the land. That drew a swift and stinging rebuke from Vaz who told the Former OCG Head to “put up or shut up.”
The Integrity Commission says its Commissioners unanimously agreed that “the validity of certain conclusions” in former C.G. Dirk Harrison’s report on UDC Rooms on the Beach sale “was doutbful and could be open to serious questioning if read by an objective person.”
Essentially, the Commissioners are saying they can’t trust the report of one of there own. That in and of it self is extraordinary.
