General Secretary of the Jamaica Dr Horace Chang, has announced that the Jamaica Labour Party will host its National Conference on February 26, 2017.

Dr Chang revealed that the decision is based on the party’s desire to focus one hundred percent on the upcoming Local Government Elections.

He said “The party is focused on the Local Government Elections on November 28. We have all our candidates in place and we are supremely confident that our candidates will be successful. Our party has demonstrated in government that we care for the people of Jamaica; their families and their communities. In just eight months we have done very well and are confident that the people of Jamaica will extend their support to our local government prosperity partnership”.

He added that “Now is the time for caring; the people of Jamaica to complete the transformation of government and governance of the country. We have all heard and seen the corruption at the parish councils over the years and their failure to deliver on their responsibilities. The JLP is ready to move the local government system to a more accountable and responsive position”.
