Klansman Gang leader charged by the Police

A Top-tier member of a faction of the Clansman Gang, 33-year-old Andre Bryan otherwise called ‘Blackman’, has been charged under the Criminal Justice (Suppression of Criminal Organizations) Act with leading a criminal organization and attempting to recruit an adult to a criminal organization.

He was arrested during an operation in an upscale community of St. Andrew on Sunday, March 4 and Monday, March 5. Five additional persons, including Bryan’s mother, brother and a female companion were also charged under the Act for participating in a criminal organization.

Charged are:
• Millicent Brown, (Bryan’s mother) 53-year-old for being part of a criminal organization by facilitating the commission of a serious offence and obtaining a benefit from a criminal organization;

• Kevaughn Green, (Bryan’s brother) 25-year-old, is being charged with being part of a criminal organization by facilitating the commission of a crime;

• Alicia Brown; 27-year-old (Bryan’s female companion), is being charged with providing a benefit to a criminal organization.

• Davion Edwards, otherwise called ‘Lizard’ for participating in a criminal organization.

• Baswell Rhoden otherwise called ‘Stephan’, for participating in a criminal organization.

They are scheduled to appear before the Home Circuit Court on Friday, March 23.

At a Press Conference held at the head office of the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch (C-TOC) in Kingston on Tuesday, March 20, Assistant Commissioner of Police Fitz Bailey disclosed, that since the start of the year, of 49 murders in the St. Catherine North Division, 25 have been attributed to the Clansman Gang.

Furthermore, ACP Bailey stated that as the investigations continue other persons will be brought to books as the Police continue to pursue persons involved in criminal activities. “We are committed; we will go wherever we have to go, there is no hiding place for criminals in this country.”
