Let there be light. Jamaica pays off massive JPS streetlight debt

As of today, the long standing debt owed to the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) to the tune of 9.3 Billion dollars has been paid off.

That’s the message from the Nigel Clarke led Ministry of Finance.

It’s the first time in the nation’s history since JPS was privitize that central Government doesn’t owe billions of dollars in arrears.

With the government paying off that huge debt, the government stock of debt has decreased.
