McKenzie orders probe in building collapse

TRELAWNY, Jamaica — Minister of Local Government and Community Development Desmond McKenzie has ordered the Trelawny Municipal Corporation to give him an interim report, following a structural collapse at the Royalton Hotel project in Trelawny.

In a news release today, McKenzie acknowledged reports of a structural collapse which occurred earlier today, stating that the cause of the incident is not officially known at this time.

The minister said after he receives the interim report from the Trelawny Municipal Corporation, more information will be provided to the public.
