One billion dollars injection for Tourism Pension fund

Minister of Finance and the Public Service Dr Nigel Clarke is hailing the passage of the bill to create the Tourism Workers Pension Fund, as a very important piece of legislation.

Dr Clarke says this will now provide 300,000 workers in the tourism industry with the opportunity to save for retirement and to have their employers contribute as well.

He said to get the fund going, the government will be putting in one billion dollars as a one off, one time, injection.

Dr Clarke was speaking recently at a Tourism related function in East Central St. James recently.
