Phillips threatening to sue to stop the people of Eastern St. Mary from getting proper roads

Under Pressure Opposition Leader Dr. Peter Phillips is threatening to sue the government to stop the expansion of the Junction road in Eastern St. Mary.

The threat came during a recent tour of the Broadgate area that is under going expansion work. Dr. Phillips flanked by beaten candidate Shane Alexis, said that a petition has being sent to the Public Defender about the road works now underway that is reportedly causing problems for some of the residents of the area.

Some residents is said to be suffering from the dust caused by earth removal from the area. They alledged inadequate wetting of the area.

Phillips said if the need arises he will have to take the matter further.

The widening of the Junction road is set to make commute to St. Mary much easier and safer when completed. The road works was a promise made to the people of Eastern St. Mary in the run up to the By-Election held after the death of the sitting MP. That was won by the JLP candidate Dr. Normon Dunn.
