LBC News understands, that the Peoples National Party (PNP) knew about the plans that two Cruise Ships were going to be pulling out of Falmouth Trelawny this year, two years ago.

Thats the word from Minister of Tourism Edmond Bartlett speaking at an Area Council 4 function just wrapping up in St. James. Mr. Bartlett who was delivering the key note address said the PNP crying wolf has caused him to be running to address concerns from foreign investors who has been calling him, asking what is happening in Falmouth, and Jamaica at large.

Mr. Bartlett explained that according to how Cruise lines set up their business, the plan withdrawal of the vessels would have been communicated to the previous administration over two years prior to his arrival as Minister.

He went on to say that Tourism since he took over as Minister has been growing at rates only seen in Jamaica way back in the 1980s. He said Falmouth will be seeing just under Seven Hundred Thousand cruise ship arrivals this year.

Turning to the problems the Government is facing. Mr. Bartlett said he has never seen so many legacy problems ever in Government since he has been in politics. He said there are many problems that the present Government has to be grappling with that the previous administration has left on them to solve. He said the Labour Party is fixing all these issues, because it has a Leader in Andrew Holness that knows what he is about.
