Road accident claims life in Portland

LBC News understands that a Portland man succumbed to injuries he sustained in an early morning (Wednesday) crash along the Norwich main road in the parish.

He has been identified as thirty-one-year-old Everol Monelal a security guard of a St. Margaret’s Bay address.

According to the Port Antonio police at about 2 am Monelal was driving a Toyota Corolla along the Norwich main road in an easterly direction when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the sea.

Monelal and a male passenger were rushed to the Port Antonio hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The male passenger was admitted in serious but stable condition.
