LBC News understands that a Security guard is now dead after the National Peoples Corparative Bank (PC) at Newell, St. Elizabeth was robbed earlier today. His name is Lawdrick Dennis. It’s the second time since last year this particular PC Bank has been robbed and the 6th time in five years.
No one else was hurt. They made off with jewellry and Cellphones taken from staff. They escaped in a waiting motorcar. The police later found the car abondoned in Malvern, a short distance away from the scene of the crime. The license plate was removed. The police theorize that the car was stolen. The Pedro Plains Police are investigating.
LBC understands that it is the second time in the space of a year that this particular bank has been robbed. The Security Guard name is Lawdrick Dennis as far as we have ascertained.
St. Elizabeth is a peaceful Parish, but the Police has seen a slight upsurge in killing. About two months ago, at a community meeting, the Head of the Black River Police, indicated that up until then, there were 15 murders in the parish an increase over last year.
