St. Catherine under lockdown over COVID-19

The Government of Jamaica is declaring a lockdown of the Parish of St. Catherine starting the 15th of April to the 22nd of April. That’s the word from Prime Minister Andrew Holness speaking at a virtual conference now underway.

The reason given for the lockdown is to slow as much as possible the spreading of the COVID-19 disease in the parish. According to PM Holness mapping has shown that many of the addresses of infected is from that parish.

PM Holness says the lockdown of St. Catherine is a start. Simply put, this could be the start of the locking down of the entire country.

PM Holness made the revelation at a press conference now underway virtually.
