The Jamaica Teachers Association (JTA) is coming under fire from some Teachers after rejecting the Government’s latest wage offer.

The anger coming from some Teachers is based on the fact that the promise retroactive money that they were to receive this month end will now no longer be paid until budget year 2019-2020.

The JTA leadership narrowly rejected the offer 48-40 yesterday in a meeting that the JTA head encourage them to accept. That has left some Teachers hopping mad with one commenting that: “Something else is up this is not about salaries;” and they are been used “as Guinea pigs in a war they know nothing about.”
